The Lost Symbol

Alrighty chickadees...as you all know I love to read! Nothing like immersing yourself in a good book and watching a scene play out in your head. Besides...just like Wedge said...

Reading.....is fundamental (teehee)

So the latest book that I've read (and actually enjoyed) was The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown...

Now unlike many black women in my age group...I like to read books that aren't necessarily black smut...I mean no disrespect to that genre (urban fiction) no disrespect at all...I've enjoyed some of the books you have offered...I even wrote one in that genre myself, but it just doesn't interest me anymore since the flooding of the market with every tom, dick, and harry trying to sell a story of a wayward street girl...it lost it's effect after the coldest winter ever *shrugs* Anywho...this book is about Freemasonry, science, the Bible, enlightenment, conspiracy theories, symbology, and history...not to mention it's a thriller of sorts and involves sensory deprivation tanks, death, and other torture techniques!

Sorry...all that stuff interests me...a great deal...I got a little carried away...

Anywho, I loved Dan Brown from when I first read Angels and Demons a couple years back...a page turner I couldn't put down, I finished the 400+ page hardback in two days...it was that good. I've had this book (the Lost Symbol) in my possession since it was released in September of last year but just never got around to reading it (like Angels and Demons it starts very very very slow) and so I'd read it...and put it down...come back and start over again but last week I picked it up and just read, read, read until I finished and I wasn't disappointed.

If you're a fan of all that I mentioned I suggest you give it a read (if you haven't done so already) I thoroughly enjoyed the latest installment of Robert Langdon.

I have all of Dan Brown's books. I love his writing. He paints such a vivid picture with his stories. I find myself running to Wikipedia or Google to look up certain paintings he mentions or research certain characters.

I've read all of the Robert Langdon books and loved, loved, LOVED them. I haven't read the others (Deception Point, etc) but that's exactly what he makes me do too! Google everything, makes me rethink evrything I've learned. Loves it.

I have all of Dan Brown's books as well, they're all good.

I don't get the appeal of Zane. I read a page of that shit once and had to go wash my hands. It was absolute filth.......and I've been known to enjoy filth, but that sucked.
