So as you all know (or if you're a new follower you may not) a bitch ain't got no job...got laid off (for the second time in 2 years) back in August. So since then I collected my severance package (lovely) and now just recently started on my unemployement and have been applying for jobs like a mad woman (2 a week is a condition of my unemployement...however I always apply for more)...and today I just felt myself getting so pissed!
First reason....
How can people strive to live on unemployement? This shit is the pits! I'm getting a fraction of what I used to make and if I didn't have any bills it might be kinda alright...but I do have bills so this little measily paycheck (though I'm thankful because a portion of something is better than a whole lotta nuffin) but shopping? Out of the question which is a serious flag on the play. I need a job...and I need one ASAP cause this shit is getting ridiculous.
Second reason....
Who told these companies to get all "uppity" with the requirements? I mean having a Bachelor's in Mass Comm in order to do customer service? Bitch. Boo. Bye. If I have a degree the LAST position I'm gonna be amped to take is a customer service one...nuh uh baby, nuh uh(I applied anyway, even without a degree). Having 6+ years experience to work a cash register? See now you just insulting my intelligence and shit. I don't need 6 years experience to press a button on a machine that does the adding and subtracting for me (I didn't apply for that position).
All in all I applied for 14 jobs...just today. This is what I try to do everyday, apply, apply, apply. So far nothing is coming up roses, but I have hope somethign will arise soon...I just hope it's very soon.

Ufck the world
yea i def think it depends on where your at. philly has so many open jobs. i mean people are coming from different countries and they are able to get jobs within a week. it all just depends on where you at.
I have a friend who has been out of work since April and he is severely depressed. At least you are keeping your hopes up and still applying. I'm sure something will come along. Don't stress yourself too. Take it one day at a time.
if you haven't, try craigslist. some people respond back within days
