UnbeWEAVEable

With hair stores popping up on every corner of every hood and even good neighborhood there is no excuse to have a ratty wig/weave...

I decided to take a moment to go over basic weave/wig care...first thing you need to know is there are two types of hair...

Synthetic

Human

Alright...now personally for wigs I prefer synthetic hair...synthetic hair is basically plastic...yes that hair you're spraying with oil sheen and combing everyday is plastic...so when you have a synthetic wig/weave think of it like your tupperwear...you put your home cooked meals in it over and over and over again and what happens? The plastic isn't shiny anymore, you can't see through it, it starts to peel, it becomes discolored. Same exact thing happens with a weave, comb it everyday and it's gonna get ratty, spraying it with oil sheen doesn't help, just creates more build up...you must have a wig/weave brush and spray designed for weaves/wigs...it should contain NO OIL. Synthetic hair is also cheaper than human hair (first wig shown above is $30.00, second wig shown is $120.00) usually I buy wigs with a curl to it and from my experience sythetic hair holds a style better...besides I don't keep them long so I'm not gonna pay $100+ for something I may wear for 3 weeks.

Synthetic hair has a short life span...many a woman don't realize this and continue to wear ratty wigs/weaves...

This saddens me. I will place here the guidelines of synthetic hair wigs...

  1. If purchasing a synthetic weave, go for curly or short, long and straight doesn't usually pan out well in the synthetic department...unless you're keeping it for under 2 weeks
  2. Buy wig a week in advance of use
  3. Sleep once or twice in wig so it will lose the plastic sheen it comes with
  4. DO NOT comb/brush hair, just fluff and go
  5. Water is good for synthetic curls, makes them more defined, spritz water on wig in place of oil
  6. Wear no more than 3-4 weeks...with curly wigs you can get longer wear out of it if you wish...wash wig and FINGER COMB curls so they don't become frizzy.
Alright...now human hair...if you're doing braids (micros) or a weave, I prefer human hair...Remy hair specifically...now this shit is pricey, 16 inches for 90 bucks...per pack...and you ususally need two packs for a standard sew in. Well that's how much it was when I got my malaysian sew in a year back...BUT...it's very good quality hair, doesn't shed alot, doesn't get ratty quickly...you treat human hair as you would your own hair...cheaper versions of human hair require more care...

Expensive human hair...

Human hair that was less than 20/pack...

Take care of your weave/wig ladies...no one wants a ratty hair do...well except for that girl whose weave saved her life...

LMAO @ the bad girls club examples. that mess that chile (natalie's sack chaser- cant think of her name and she isnt worth a google) had on her head was a hot sloppy jaloppy mess!!!!!

Lets not forget to add the human hair mix (milky way, milky way weavemaster, milky way Que and Outre etc) thats not all human at all; its just not as platic as synthetic. Remy is pretty good quality and is expensive especially since it costs damn near the same as Wags or Arjuni. True human hair is sold in ounces and can be manipulated without changing the quality of the hair but thats for those that can shell out the $$$ all at once.

You need to put this shit in a Microsoft publisher document (hoodrats love pretty colors and pictures <_< LOL) and post in some of Baltimore's BSS.

I love synthetic hair too! i like human hair can just be too much sometimes. The fake stuff hold life a lil while longer plus human hair can some times drive me crazy like the stuff that grew out of my own head. I need to pass this post off to some women i know who just don't get the art of a weave or wig.
