I blogged about this a couple months back upon it's first appearance...I figured it would come and go and that would be it...
I thought the same thing about Ciara and Rhianna...obviously I'm wrong sometimes...this was one of those instances.

As if there aren't enough derogatory terms for females Lil Duval has contributed another *sigh* and my people have taken it and ran with it.
Why do I hate this saying so much? Because the term in of itself is "basic" if you will. I feel like the majority of those of use this term are...well...basic. There are hundreds of thousands of words in the English language and this is what my black people rally behind?

as much as you hate the word- you have to admit, that the term pretty much covers those that are being referred to as such.
that picture is the epitome of what one would consider "basic". People are always going to use words incorrectly or play them out when they learn what it means. Oh, its cool to call yourself "5 star"... played. I think im going to get 5 star tatted on my neck. Yup, I want to be basic... ok, done rambling.
As creative as we are we do come up with and push A LOT of dumb shit. I don't even speak on it anymore.
Words have power and the general vocab of our people seems to get weaker and weaker.
Folk really need to do more and say less.
When I first heard the term "basic bitch" I didn't really like the statement but I guess its how u perceive what it is. those two u got posted up would be what I would call basic.
