Put on your thinking caps and pay attention to what I'm about to tell you...stay with me sugah cause we gonna figuratively get on the freeway, ride for a minute and get back off at the same exit...
This is one of my personal favorites in the realm of Louis Vuitton purses...
The Damier Azur Galliera GM
*insert harmonizing angel voices here*
A FINE specimen of a bag my honeychild! Oversized just enough to not be overt and gaudy, a nice neutral tone as to not attract TOO much attention, short arm strap so it's still close to your body and not obstructing the view of your outfit...whoo honey...FAB.U.LOUS...all of this could be yours (or mine rather) for a price tag of $1480.00.
One thousand...four hundred...and eighty dollars. Not including any applicable tax or shipping costs of course. Now I'm not paying that price for a bag because sugah, Epitome don't have it going on like that, but that's not the point I'm trying to make to you...keep reading so you can understand where I'm coming from...
How much do you think that bag cost to make? I'm talking initial labor costs and materials? Just one bag? Would you believe me if I told you that depending on where it was manufactured (India, China, America, Paris) the real cost of that bag is probably $60.00 AT MOST? Believe it honey...after Louis Vuitton has shipped it here and there, there and here, company B has brought it from company A, and company B is gonna sell it to company C at a mark up, and then company C is going to sell it to you at an even higher mark up.
Now...knowing that little piece of information does that bag look to be worth that heft price tag of $1480.00? If you have any sense probably not.
"Epitome will you cut out the manufacturing lesson and get to the damn point?" <---you rushing me
Alright so that long winded explanation was meant to serve two purposes...give you some insight on:
- How folk spend money ever so frivolously and wonder why they stay poor and the rich get richer
- Give you an example of today's lesson
I'd think it was defective...or a fake...
So think about it, when you sell yourself short...what does that make you?
Don't let anyone tell you you aren't worth x, or y, or z...don't let anyone make you feel bad for having expectations or standards, as the old saying goes, if you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything and do you really want that for yourself?
